CALLED TO RENT
Terms of Service
Draft — this is a starting point, not a finished legal document. Have an attorney review and finalize this before relying on it.
1. What Called to Rent is
Called to Rent is a listing and matching platform that connects homeowners serving a mission with prospective renters. We are not a party to any lease, we do not manage properties, collect rent, or handle security deposits, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing or application.
2. Your responsibilities
Homeowners are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for complying with all applicable landlord-tenant and fair housing laws. Renters are responsible for the accuracy of their applications. Both parties are responsible for negotiating and executing their own lease agreement.
3. Fair housing
All listings and rental decisions made through this platform must comply with the federal Fair Housing Act and applicable state and local fair housing laws, which prohibit discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.
4. No guarantees
We review listings before publication but do not independently verify the identity, creditworthiness, or trustworthiness of any homeowner or renter. Use of this platform does not replace normal precautions such as references, background checks, or a properly executed lease.
5. Limitation of liability
Called to Rent is not liable for disputes, damages, losses, or claims arising from any rental arrangement made between users of this platform.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time as the platform evolves.
